Okay so I'm sorta bad at this blogging thing.

Mostly because I am already keeping a journal, and facebook, and a roommate collaborating blog. But I figure since my life is going to be taking some interesting turns, I ought to keep a more organized record than my normal chaotic verbiage that normally flows from my fingers.

So, the end of this school year is upon us. The last day of class is just 12 days away, and I'm officially done with this whole RA business on the 24th. It is so WEIRD! I can't believe how fast this year has flown. I can't even begin to describe the year's experiences, so this will suffice: I have learned SO much about so many things, but most of all, how God can (and does) increase our capacity to love any and all people you interact with, if you are willing to let your heart stretch. I have had some incredible insights, experiences, and moments with and just watching my girls grow and develop. I will never, NEVER regret the day I decided to become an RA. I love my girls and will miss them dearly.

But the end of one chapter leads to the beginning of the next! Through a series of unexpected events, I was invited to attend a study abroad to Vancouver, BC for spring term. Except it is actually a giant road trip through Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, and then coming back through Montana and Wyoming. We're spending our time camping in various places (beaches, the Redwoods, Yellowstone) as well as staying in little hostel-like places and doing the whole 'tour-la-city' thing. The trip is emphasized for studio and photography majors, of which I am neither. But I did end up getting a Canon t1i for a different class and for this trip, and that has turned into a lovely investment. I don't know anything that I'm doing, but ... that is what college is for, right? :)

Post. The Second.

Wow. Just today someone asked me if I had a blog (in reference to another person having a blog and that blog being subscribed to by someone completely unpredicted) and I realized that indeed, I do have a blog. From over a year ago.

Lovely year, wasn't it? My freshmen year came and went, so did my summer at home, and now I'm rip-rollin' as an RA in Horne Hall. Talk about intense.

Well, see you next year.

Blog. The first.

Here it is.  I've caved.  After talking to my family after not talking to them in a long time, I decided that I too should jump on the bandwagon and get a blog.  I love reading my sister's blog, so why not create something that she will love?  Besides, it's a great way to update on a grand scale.

My first adventure on this freshly-created blog will be to explain the not so normal name of said blog.  "C-Cake" is a nickname initiated by my older and only brother... the history of how it started has faded, but the name has stuck.

"Collections"... well, that doesn't really need any explanation, does it?

So there you go.  There's the first of blogging for c-cake.

up and out.
